Flipkart Elevates Sharon Pais To The Role Of Myntra Head
Ecommerce major Flipkart has elevated Sharon Pais to the role of the head of its fashion marketplace arm Myntra. She will replace Nandita Sinha, who as per Flipkart, has decided to move on from the company.
Pais will report to Flipkart group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy. Meanwhile, Myntra’s outgoing CEO Sinha is expected to work with Pais over the “coming months” through a transition period.
“Myntra has built a strong position in the fashion and lifestyle space over the years. Sharon has worked closely with the team and understands the business well. This change reflects the depth of our internal leadership and our continued focus on execution. I thank Nandita for her contributions and wish her the very best for the future,” Flipkart group CEO Krishnamurthy.
Meanwhile, Kapil Thirani will succeed Pais as the lead of Flipkart Fashion. He will report to senior VP and head of marketplace for Flipkart, Sakait Chaudhary. The company will now initiate a process to identify a successor for Thirani.
An alumna of IIT-BHU, Sinha joined Flipkart as an associate director in 2013 and rose through the ranks to become the CEO of Myntra in 2022. She previously also served with companies like Unilever and Britannia.
Meanwhile, Pais also joined the ecommerce major as a sales and revenue lead back in 2013. She was appointed as Myntra’s chief business officer (CBO) in 2021, and was moved internally to Flipkart as a senior vice-president last year.
Founded in 2007 by Mukesh Bansal, Ashutosh Lawania and Vineet Saxena, Myntra is an online marketplace which allows third-party sellers to sell their fashion products such as apparels and other accessories. The Bengaluru-based startup was acquired by Flipkart for $240 Mn in 2014.
Under Sinha, the fashion ecommerce arm of Flipkart has turned profitable and grown its operations. The company’s net profit zoomed about 18X to INR 548 Cr in FY25, up from INR 31 Cr in the previous fiscal year. Myntra’s revenue from operations rose 18% to INR 6,043 Cr from INR 5,122 Cr in FY24.
