Exclusive: Nitro Commerce Acquires Zodiac Labs AI To Offer Quick Commerce Analytics
Months after a fresh capital infusion of $5 Mn, enterprise tech startup Nitro Commerce has acquired Gurugram-based AI copilot company Zodiac Labs AI for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition comes on the back of Nitro Commerce expanding to quick commerce-centric solutions for brands, company’s founder Umair Mohammed told Inc42.
Founded by Nikhil Garg, Zodiac Labs is an AI-powered analytics startup which offers insights and tools for brands to track their growth across quick commerce channels. For instance, it offers a real-time dashboard to monitor SKUs, a smart purchase order engine which gives suggestions, and helps brands to allocate their quick commerce budgets.
Currently, it works across quick commerce platforms including Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart
Since its inception in 2023, Nitro Commerce has been offering a suite of AI-enabled products for brand marketing and customer engagement that directly impact the topline for brands. However, the company has its core strength in the D2C channel.
With this acquisition, Nitro Commerce will expand its footprint across ecommerce, retail, and quick commerce.
“We are a very merchant focused, D2C-focused solution. So another way to look at it is how can we help brands grow on other channels as well outside of their core D2C. And the answer was obviously something can be done on the quick commerce side,” Mohammed added.
Notably, Garg, the founder of Zodiac, has also joined Nitro Commerce.
“By joining forces with Nitro Commerce, we are scaling our Agentic AI model to not just show data, but to actively nudge marketers, unblock POs, and reallocate ad spends in real time,” said Zodiac’s founder Garg.
Brands such as Rare Rabbit, Dot & Key, Pepperfry, ClayCo, Kapiva, Blue Tokai, VIP Industries, and Perfora are part of Nitro’s network of more than 2,500 brands leveraging AI-powered intent advertising to optimise their marketing efforts.
More and more brands are riding the quick commerce wave and cutting down on their last mile delivery time. From essentials to food and fashion, brands and startups across sectors have announced their 15-30 minute delivery range.
This highlights the growing need for D2C brands to be available and present on quick commerce channels. Not just this, investors are also infusing capital to drive the quick commerce swing.
Earlier this week, Inc42 exclusively reported that quick commerce startup BaazarNow is in talks to raise $9 Mn from Peak XV Partners, Antler and Whiteboard Capital. The startup is planning to expand its dark store network to 18 stores in more than a dozen cities.
