DATOMS Nets ₹25 Cr To Fuel Expansion Of Its Industrial IoT Platform

datoms funding

Enterprise tech startup DATOMS has secured ₹25 Cr ($2.8 Mn) in a Series A funding round led by Big Capital JSC, with participation from IvyCap Ventures and existing backer YourNest Venture Capital.

The fresh funds will be utilised to strengthen product and tech capabilities, expand into new markets, and bring in new hires across engineering, data science, operations and enterprise sales.

Besides, some of the capital will also be used in enhancing its AI and analytics capabilities, improving automation features, while also developing predictive maintenance, performance optimisation, and energy management solutions.

Founded in 2021 by Amiya Samantaray, Asish Sahoo, Nataraj Sahoo and Amrit Biswal, DATOMS offers an integrated operations cloud that brings people, processes, and machine operations onto a single platform to monitor performance in real time and manage service operations.

The startup claims to be monitoring over 25,000 machines and aims to scale this to 1 Lakh machines within a year.

The startup caters to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across industrial IoT, energy technology, and enterprise software with a focus on improving performance in asset-heavy businesses.  It claims that it currently works with more than 100 customers globally, including Tata Steel, ONGC, ABB, and Dalmia Bharat Cement.

Including a ₹13.5 Cr pre-Series A funding round, the startup has raised more than ₹20 Cr till date from Yournest Venture Capital, Operators Studio, APT Research, Ridik Capital, Warmup Ventures and BeyondSeed, among others.

The development comes amid growing enterprise appetite for connected infrastructure and AI-led automation across industrial sectors. As asset-heavy businesses accelerate digital transformation, demand for predictive maintenance, remote monitoring, and energy optimisation tools is rising steadily.

The global IoT solutions market is projected to surpass the $3 Bn mark by 2033, driven by increased adoption across manufacturing, energy, logistics and infrastructure.

India, in particular, is witnessing stronger policy and investor push towards Industry 4.0 technologies under the SAMART Udyog Bharat 4.0 initiative of the MHI.

Several startups, including Comminent, Probus, Fyllo and Boon, have entered the space in recent years, offering IoT-led solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime across sectors. This intensifying activity reflects the broader momentum in industrial IoT and enterprise automation.

Investor interest has also deepened at the ecosystem level. At the India AI Impact Summit, Qualcomm Ventures — the investment arm of Qualcomm — announced plans to deploy $150 Mn in Indian startups building AI-led solutions across automotive, IoT, robotics and mobile. The move underscores rising global capital allocation towards AI-integrated hardware and industrial software platforms — a segment DATOMS is positioning itself within.
