Meesho’s Loss Declines 72% YoY To INR 701 Cr In H1 FY26
Ecommerce major Meesho reported a consolidated loss of INR 701 Cr in the first half (H1) of the fiscal year 2025-26 (FY26), improving 72% from INR 2,513 Cr loss in the year ago period.
Meanwhile, the ecommerce unicorn’s revenue from operations grew 29% to INR 5,578 Cr in the six month period ended September 2025 as against INR 4,311 Cr in H1 FY25. Including other income of INR 280 Cr, Meesho’s total income stood at INR 5,858 Cr, up 29% YoY compared to H1 FY25.
Founded in 2015 by Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal, Meesho is among India’s largest social commerce platforms, enabling small businesses and individual entrepreneurs to sell online via its marketplace. The company earns revenue from delivery of goods, platform advertising, assurance services, and other platform offerings.
Earlier yesterday, the startup filed its red herring prospectus (RHP) with SEBI for an initial public offering (IPO), which will comprise a fresh issue of up to INR 4,250 Cr.
Founders Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Kumar, and early backers such as Elevation Capital, Peak XV Partners, and Y Combinator Continuity will also offload up to 10.55 Cr shares via the offer for sale (OFS) component.
The issue is scheduled to open for public subscription on December 3 and close on December 5, with anchor investor bidding on December 2.
Breaking Down The Expenses
Meesho’s total expenses surged 38% to INR 6,291 Cr in H1 FY26 from INR 4,569 Cr during the same period last year.
Employee Benefit Expenses: The unicorn’s employee benefit expenses during the period under review stood at INR 445 Cr, up 7.6% from INR 413.4 Cr in H1 FY25.
Logistics Expenses: One of the largest contributors to the company’s expenses, expenditure under this bucket stood at INR 4,429.1 Cr in H1 FY26, up 35% from INR 3,283.1 Cr in the year ago period.
Advertising Expenses: Meesho’s advertising expenses surged 86% to INR 606.2 Cr in H1 FY26 from INR 325.5 Cr in the year ago period.
